PW ENews January 2015

 A Word from Our Moderator

 Dear Women of Northminster,

It’s a new year, full of new opportunities, new ideas, new hopes, new goals. As we start filling in our calendars for 2015, I hope you’ll be able to include some PW activities on yours. Read on to learn what we have going on to find what appeals to you. In addition to this newsletter, you also should have an attachment that is the brochure for the annual PW retreat. This year it will take place in March, a little bit earlier in the spring than it has been in the past. We are hoping this will allow more women to join us, before our schedules get completely consumed with outdoor activities and end-of-school-year busy-ness. We also have three Bible studies continuing - you are welcome to join in at any time.

Your Sister in Christ,

Nancy Thompson, Moderator

PW Missions

For January, each circle will be making sandwiches for the Open Door Community of Atlanta. This program serves breakfast, lunches and provides showers, free medical clinic, and worship services to Atlanta’s homeless. Please bring the following items to your circle: whole wheat bread; sandwich meat (not bologna); sliced cheese and join us as we make sandwiches together.

We will also continue to collect items for the children at Thornwell, specifically supporting the middle school boy’s cottage. We are collecting new/slightly used clothing for the pre teen/teen aged boys in the Georgia-Beatie Cottage. We will also be collecting kitchen supplies, such as dish towel/cloths, sponges, scrubbers, dish detergent, etc. These items can be left in the Mission Box in the Fireside Room throughout the month.

Looking forward to a great year of giving!

2015 – What is to be remains to unfold!

One thing is certain:

The NPC Women’s Retreat will enrich your life!

How, you ask?

Attending the Retreat will

stimulate your thinking about your faith,

give you “down time” to enjoy your friends,

test your shopping, spending, and saving skills (!),

allow “me time” to simply rest and take in the beauty of lakes and mountains,

offer opportunities to walk, to hike, to read, to knit, to watch a good movie, to

laugh, to talk!

hone your listening skills – as well as your sharing skills,

sit by a fire, eat s’mores if you like, or just watch the flames!

Sing songs, learn lessons, probe your beliefs, and pray!

All it takes TO ENJOY ALL OF THIS AND MORE is FAITH LIKE A CHILD!

Therefore….
