March Book Review

Robert Goolrick's debut novel, The Reliable Wife, is a tale of love and madness, of longing and murder.  It is a story of trickery, betrayal, and loneliness set in the early 1900s in Wisconsin in the dead of winter.  A wealthy businessman has advertised for a “reliable wife”; his ad is answered by a “simple honest woman” who is anything but what she seems.

This is one of the most difficult books PWBC has read and it is certainly not for everyone.  While rating it a 6.4 members suggest that before reading it you might want to read reviews of the book first to get a better idea of the subject matter.
