Worship the Lord with gladness, come before him with joyful songs. (Psalm 100:2).

The music program at Northminster provides children, youth and adults the opportunity to learn and put into practice musical techniques while contributing to worship services. The following are opportunities for you and your family to use their talent in devotion and praise to God:

Youth Programs

The music program for children and youth in 2003-04 runs Mid-September through through the end of May with a short break during January. It offers a full-graded choir program of learning music and sharing what they've learned with their church family.

JOYFUL NOISE: Our "Joyful Noise" program for children through elementary involves them in the elements and execution of Worship. They become Worship Leaders instead of Worship Watchers and gives them a sense of usefulness to the whole Church. This year, Joyful Noise will be a part of Northminster Every Wednesday. (Click here to learn more about this Wednesday evening opportunity for fellowship and learning.)

CHERUB CHOIR:
This year Cathi Muckerman will be working with our youngest singers (4 & 5 year olds) on such concepts as high-low, soft-loud, fast-slow, and having a fun time singing songs about Jesus.

PRIMARY CHOIR:
David Langley leads the 1st & 2nd Graders in developing basic musicianship and motor skills through fun and exciting music activities and games with heavy emphasis on singing.

ELEMENTARY CHOIR:
David Langley leads 3rd-5th Graders in music they will share with the congregation. Beginning music reading will be taught through established music education techniques such as Orff and Kodaly, and of course, lots of singing.

YOUTH CHOIR: 6th-12th Grade youth meet from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary with Charlie Boone as Director. Meeting between Jr. High and Sr. High youth group times, gives both Middle and High School youth a chance to participate. They will be working on vocal techniques, score reading and singing in parts. This fabulous group of singers participates regularly in worship services.

Adult Programs

The adult music program runs all year and is an integral part of worship at Northminster each Sunday and for special occasions.

HANDBELL CHOIR: Directed by Charlie Boone, the handbell choir is open to any Youth or Adult who can attend rehearsal on a REGULAR basis. No experience is necessary, we will teach you everything you need to know. Rehearsal time is 7:45 each Wednesday evening in the Sanctuary.

ADULT CHOIR: The adult choir meets all year and is an integral part of worship at Northminster each Sunday and for special occasions. Rehearsals are at 7:30 on Thursday evenings with Charlie Boone in the Sanctuary. The group enjoys the fellowship of retreats to North Carolina and fun and games at Christmas. Everyone, at all levels of music ability, is welcome. Come learn with us and share your musical gift.
