"Worship the Lord with gladness, come before him with joyful songs." (Psalm 100:2).

The Music Department at Northminster is an all-inclusive, full-graded choir program for 3-year-olds through adults.  Participants learn useful musical techniques while contributing to worship services.  The following are opportunities for you and your family to use their talent in devotion and praise to God:

Adult Music

The adult music program is an integral part of worship at Northminster each Sunday and special occasions. 

HANDBELL CHOIR: Directed by the handbell choir is open to any Youth or Adult who can attend rehearsal on a REGULAR basis.  No experience is necessary; we will teach you everything you need to know.  Rehearsal time is 7:45-8:45pm each Wednesday evening in the Sanctuary.  Rehearsals run September through May as a part of the Buzz program.

ADULT CHOIR: The adult choir is an integral part of worship at Northminster each Sunday and special occasions.  Rehearsals run from August to Mid-June and are at 7:30pm on Thursday evenings with director  in the Sanctuary choir loft.  The group enjoys the fellowship of retreats to North Carolina and fun and games at Christmas.  New singers are always welcome.  Come, join us.

Children and Youth Music

The Children's Choir program runs mid-September through the end of May with a short break during January.  It offers a full-graded choir program of learning music and sharing what they've learned with their church family.  The children's choirs are an integral part of the Wednesday night Buzz program.

The Chapel Choir meets with , Director, in the choir room on Wednesday nights during Buzz from 6:30-7:30pm.  They become Worship Leaders instead of Worship Watchers, and it gives them a sense of usefulness to the whole Church.  Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade children study vocal techniques, music reading, and develop motor skills through established methods such as Orff and Kodaly.

The Carol Choir meets with Dr. Mary Louise Wilson, Director, in Room 110/111 on Wednesday nights during Buzz from 6:30-7:30pm.  Our 1st and 2nd grade children develop aural and improvisational skills through movement, listening, and lots of singing.

The Cherub Choir will meet with  ,Director, in Room 116 on Wednesday nights during Buzz from 6:30-7:00pm.  Our 3- and 4-year-old preschoolers and kindergartners learn about concepts such as high-low, soft-loud, and fast-slow while having a fun time singing songs about Jesus.

The Youth Choir program runs from mid-September through the end of May with a short break in January.  Our 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders meet with , Director, in the Sanctuary choir loft on Sundays from 5:00-6:00pm.  The choir members work on vocal techniques, score reading, and singing in parts.  The Youth Choir is one of the highlights of the Music Program at Northminster.
