GIVING A MEAL A MONTH - A Family - to - Family Mission
To provide one complete meal a month to each family living at HomeStretch and Drake House apartments. These meals will feed hungry families and nourish the spirits of both givers and recipients.
Each month the Giving A Meal a Month team selects recipes for a complete, well-balanced and cost-effective meal. Shoppers from Northminster buy the ingredients for one family during their regular grocery shopping trip and return the items to the church. Members of the NPC Meal A Month Mission Team will deliver the bags of food.
How can my family participate? Purchase foods from a set shopping list and bring them to NPC in a Giving a Meal a Month (GAMAM) shopping bag sometime during the month. Place the bag of food in the specially designated GAMAM collection bin. Take home an empty bag and a new menu for next month’s meal.
Involve each family member in some way in at least one of the steps of the project.
- picking up a new bag and menu @ NPC
- adding GAMAM items to your shopping lists
- finding the food items on the grocery shelves
- placing food items in the shopping bag (store at home until all items are purchased)
- delivering the full shopping bag to NPC the last week of the month
