Adult Sunday School

All adult Sunday school classes begin at 10:00am and provide adults the opportunity to explore and to deepen their faith in God.

These classes will begin on September 19th and will end on November 7th, unless otherwise noted in the class description.

Caffeine and Conversation

in the Fellowship Hall

This group is for those who feel the need to simply gather and have grown-up conversations on Sunday morning.  Drop off the young ones for Way Cool or Youth Sunday School and come by for a caffeinated beverage and a breakfast treat.

Old Testament Class

taught by John Vaughan in Room 137

If you have ever said "I wish I knew more about the bible." -- now is your chance.

In the first weeks, we will decide what areas, subject, or people most interest us. From there, we will start an exploration guaranteed to be rewarding and thought-provoking. In past classes, we have learned about Good Kings, Bad Kings, Profits, Mercenaries, Priests, Traitors, and Angels;  Worship, War, Politics, Technology, Architecture, Disasters, and Miracles— all part of the complex story that belongs to all of God's people.

Truly, no knowledge of the Bible is needed; just a desire to learn more about the scripture.  You probably already own the "textbook" for this class, but we can even provide you with that.

And, don't worry, we will not make you read all those hard to pronounce names.

The Servant Leader

taught by Dave Jones in Room 138

This class will be using Ken Blanchard and Phil Hodges’ book, which reveals the meaning of servant leadership modeled after Jesus Christ.  Books can be purchased at Amazon.com.

Mudhouse Sabbath

taught by Senior Pastor Patrick Day and Beth Cotter in Room 139

Many people today long for the richness of ritual in their worship lives.  This class will explore the seven ways of Christian formation inspired by the Jewishness of Jesus.

Membership 201: Faith Matters

taught by Associate Pastor Susan Haynes in the Fireside Room

An 8-session course using the Foundations of Faith, Education for New Church Members curriculum.  This curriculum explores topics such as the nature of God and the purpose of life using The Apostles’ Creed as its basis.  All those who have joined NPC within the last year are particularly encouraged to attend, but the class is open to everyone.  This class starts on October 17th and ends on November 21st.
