Circles (Monthly Bible Study)

Members of Presbyterian Women (PW) can choose to join one of the three monthly Bible study Circles.  These Circles provide an inclusive, caring place to enrich one's faith and meet from September to May.  Upon request, complimentary childcare is available for all circles.

The 2010-2011 Bible study is titled Journeys Through Revelation: Apocalyptic Hope for Today.  Author Barbara Rossing guides us on a journey to meet the crucified Lamb, Jesus. In a journey reminiscent of the ancient Israelites’ exodus from slavery, we are led from an unjust empire and its system of domination, through mythic battles and plagues, until, ultimately, we find ourselves in a renewed creation where God comes to live with us on earth.  This brilliantly hope filled vision speaks to us in the midst of the urgent crises of our day.  In a time when all of creation stands at a turning point, a kairos moment, this study can help guide the choices we make each day as we seek to live into the renewal that God has for the whole world.

Weekly Bible Study

This group meets every Wedneday from 9:45am to 11:30am (except during Circle week) in Room 138 beginning on Wednesday, September 15th.  We will be using Discerning the Voice of God, written by Priscilla Shirer.  Books may be purchased online or at the LifeWay Christian Book stores. The cost of the individual study book is around $11.00. The DVD series will be provided and paid for by Northminster PW, although contributions will be accepted towards the next study. It is a six week study. Most sessions of the video are 35-40 minutes, a little bit shorter than the Beth Moore lessons that we have been studying in years past.  This 6-session series will take place on the following dates: September 15th & 29nd, October 6th, 13th, 27th, and November 3rd.
