The Northminster Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden, established in 2004, is located behind the Sanctuary on the left side. A Memorial Book, containing the names of those listed on bricks in the garden, will be maintained inside the church.

The Memorial Garden will be administered by the NPC Memorial Garden Committee with final approval of policy by the Session.

The use of the Memorial Garden is for church members, affiliate members, and their immediate families. The term “immediate family” means mother, father, wife, husband and children of members.

Memorial services may be held in the sanctuary or in the Memorial Garden at a time mutually convenient to the family and the church. No memorials, flowers, plants, or other objects other than the engraved brick, placed by the church, are to be placed in the Memorial Garden.  However, other suitable memorials or gifts to the church will be welcome. There is no provision for interment of ashes or cremated remains in the garden.

The Memorial Garden will be self-supporting. Donations for the ongoing maintenance of the Memorial Garden will be kept in a designated fund for that purpose. Periodically, if an excess arises in the designated fund, then those assets could be reassigned by the Session for other purposes.

Brick orders may be placed by any member of Northminster by filling out an application and turning it into the office. The cost of a brick may be shared by one or more persons. In order to provide fair and equitable space, a person may only be represented once in the Memorial Garden. You will be notified when the brick is ordered and again when it’s installed.
