History
The Care and Connection Capital Campaign was initiated by approval
of the Session in June 2003. This approval led to the formation of an
Advisory Board that August. The Advisory Board began planning for the
campaign, developing a timeline, strategy, and literature about the
campaign. In January 2004, this Board conducted a Readiness Assessment
meeting, surveying a sample of members of the congregation about their level
of support and interest in the Campaign. Based on their responses, the
Board concluded there was a high level of support for a 2004 launch of the
Campaign, which will conclude in 2007. So, in February 2004, the Session
approved the Board's recommendation to begin the Care and Connection Capital
Campaign during that year.
The Steering
Committee then got busy. Full color campaign brochures were mailed to the
congregation, pilgrimages around the church property were held in August,
pledges were obtained from church officers and members of the steering
committee, and "Homecoming 2004" was held at a local park in October. On
November 7, 2004, many members stepped forward on Commitment Sunday to make
a pledge to this capital campaign. |

Latest Campaign News
Nearly
$540,000 has been pledged to the four-prong campaign. That pledged amount
represents the support of over 120 families or individuals at Northminster.
As of December 31, 2005,
we have pledges of
nearly $543,000 and pledged money received over
$252,000. The
Steering Committee is excited and pleased to present this information.
We already are reaping benefits from the Care & Connection Capital Campaign.
At the end of 2004, NPC purchased the combination electronic/pipe organ.
Although we still intend to purchase pipes, we can all agree that the organ,
played under Charlie Boone's most capable hands (and feet) has been a
fantastic addition to our worship services.
Going forward, the steering committee intends to present recommendations to
the Session on how to make initial disbursements of the monies now in the
funds. And, of course, to encourage each and every giving unit of our church
to participate. Remember, the Care & Connection Capital Campaign has never
been just about buildings. Rather, it forms the framework for our response
to God to be and to become the church He wants us to be, here at 2400 Old
Alabama Road.
We, the steering committee, thank the NPC family for making possible
the steps taken thus far, through your generous donations of time, prayer,
and money. We pledge our ongoing work on the campaign to allow our church to
meet its many goals. |

Campaign Points
There are four goals to the Campaign. They are: Expand and renovate
our existing building, create a mission endowment for local and global
outreach, purchase a new sanctuary organ, and provide financial support of
the Greater Atlanta Presbytery Mission Campaign.
Through building expansion and renovation, we hope to increase our space to
care and connect. This will be an approximately 2 million-dollar project.
We hope to raise 1 million, and then borrow the remainder. The current plans
call for a new, larger Fellowship Hall, and kitchen, larger dedicated Youth
facilities, at least four new classrooms for Sunday School and the
ministries that reach out to our younger children, two new offices for
staff, and a covered drive-through.
The second goal is to connect with our Lord and each other through music.
With $200,000 from the Campaign, we plan to purchase a new combination
electronic and pipe organ, to replace the current outdated electronic organ.
Third, we would like to raise $250,000 to care and connect with people in
need. This money would be a permanent endowment fund, to support our current
mission activities and expand our support to other areas.
Fourth and finally, for our commitment to care and connect with our
Presbyterian family, we plan to raise $50,000 for the Presbytery Mission
Campaign. This pledge will enable us "To Speak God's Word, With Boldness";
to reach out to churches in need and support training and new building
efforts both in our Presbytery and in Africa. |

Our Vision
Our
God…
The God we know and trust in Jesus Christ is a welcoming, forgiving,
generous, loving God, whom we love and trust and seek to obey.
Our
Church…
Northminster Presbyterian Church is a church family seeking to offer, model
and share Care and Connection to God with and for all people.
Our
Calling…
Our desire to serve God challenges each and all of us to pray, work,
worship, serve and give generously, now and in the future, so that we can
best express God’s love through the shared mission of our congregation.
Our
Challenge…
Our work on the campaign is to provide, over the next three years, a level
of capital funding that will enable Northminster Presbyterian Church to
pursue and fulfill its mission and ministry to Care and Connect with God,
with our church family, and with people in need outside our church family.
We seek to achieve this through physical building and program improvements.
