The Worship Committee needs many volunteers throughout the year. Please consider giving your time to help. Opportunites include ushering and greeting at either service and helpers in the preparation of communion both on Saturday, before communion, and Sunday, between services. In addition, if you are an ordained elder or deacon, there is great need for communion servers at each service.
Greeters
One (1) or two (2) greeters are needed at each service. Your job is to greet people as they enter the church for service. This is the first person a visitor meets from our church, and it is a great way to represent NPC. It also gives you the opportunity to see friends and acquaintances and to catch up on life. If you are interested, contact your deacon or Sarah Dixon at
Ushers
Terry Christopher and Barbara Orman are our Usher coordinators for the 9:00 and 11:15 services, respectively. The 9:00 service needs 4 ushers every week and the 11:15 services (or the Summer 10:00 service) needs 8 ushers every week. In addition there are special services that also need ushers. This job entails setting up the sanctuary before the services with flowers, lighting candles, water for the pastors, and any other preparation for such things as baptisms, et cetera. In addition, the ushers will greet parishoniers and will hand out the bulletins at the beginning of the service, will collect the offering, and will open the doors at the end of the service. Communion
Communion is generally served the first Sunday of each month, Christmas, Easter, and Holy Week. Several people are needed each time to prepare the trays for distribution and when distributing among the pews. We need eight (8) and eighteen (18) past and present serving elders and deacons to serve at the 9:00 and 11:15 services, respectively. When distributing by intinction (parishioners coming forward for communion) four (4) and eight (8) servers, respectively, are needed. If you are interested in serving please use the RSVP system for the respective communion date and indicate the services. Helpers please contact Sarah at
