Sunday afternoon, August 29 was a perfect day for Miss Mary's Crankin' and all the ice cream you can eat on the square in downtown Roswell to benefit The Drake House. Northminster and other Fulton county organizations and businesses joined together to make and serve homemade ice cream and raised over $46,000 for The Drake House operations.
Marybeth Vaughan coordinated the entire event for The Drake House, and Sherri Bozardt led Northminster's team. Northminster sponsored the inaugural kid's corner with a bounce house and "shake your own ice cream" tent. Thanks to the Campbells, the Thomases, the Braggs, the Riffels, the Ashworths, and the Days for surviving numb fingers and salt-stained t-shirts.
It's amazing what two zip-top bags, milk, sugar, vanilla, ice, rock salt and shaking can produce -- science lessons from Nancy Campbell and smiles on kids.
