On September 12, we will begin hosting a session of Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University. Dave's program teaches you to achieve your financial goals by eliminating debt, saving for the future, and giving like never before. We know how tight money is, how stressed people are, and the strains these things can put on our relationships. We believe this program will be able to help. You can register on-line, by clicking here. Once you are registered, you can purchase your materials through the church. (It’s cheaper that way.)
How much does the class cost?
The cost of the program is $100. We recognize that’s a lot of money to charge for a program to help people save money. Some help is available. Contact Patrick Day for scholarships.
How often do the classes meet?
There are 13 class sessions that meet one day per week. We will meet Sunday evenings, beginning at 7:00 pm. We will not meet on October 31 or November 28. The class will conclude on December 19.
How long is each class session?
Each session will last between 1 ½ -2 hours, depending on discussion time. The sessions are split into two parts.
Part One presents the video teaching by Dave Ramsey to help you learn how to make wise financial decisions based on Scripture.
Part Two of each class session is a small group discussion, with the class members sitting in a circle. The design of the small discussion groups helps you apply the principles to your daily life. The small group members will help hold each other accountable and support one another. The discussion group will help ensure we are working on the behavior part.
Will there be childcare?
Based on the responses to our previews in the Spring, we will not be offering childcare this session. If this is a deal-breaker for you, please let us know and we will consider adding it the next time we offer the program.
What if I’m not sure this is for me?
Attend the first session for free on September 12th. If you decide this program would be helpful for you, then you can register that night. If not, hopefully you at least found it was time well-spent.
